Introduction
We are often asked for how we stand on this or that issue as it relates to the state of affairs vis a vis the ongoing crisis. We wish, therefore, to state once for all, how the SSJC as a whole stands. Our positions, however, are simply that - positions. Because one of our special charisms is to be decidedly non-dogmatic in matters that have not been defined by Pope or Council, we hold to these as opinions of consensus based on study, prayer and consideration of the consequences for holding to any one stance.
The Current Pontiff
We believe that through his actions he has departed from the Catholic Faith, and thus loses the authority to govern. His example of Religious Indifferentism threatens the salvation of Souls. In fact, if it is true that he was a manifest heretic prior to his election, then this would make him a non-Pope, an imposter to the throne. Please read Cum Ex Apostolatus Officio. This papal encyclical relieves all doubt whether a non-Catholic excommunicate can be validly elected.
Orthopapism
Because the office of the Holy Father is the Vicar of Christ, representing the worldwide Church as their representative and guide, we in no way can recognize as valid the election of any one claiming the throne of Peter other than that which resides in Rome today.
Validity of the Novus Ordo Missae
We regard as intrinsically valid the Latin Missal that is known as the Mass of Paul VI, but doubt that mistranslations of the words of consecration can effect the sacrament, for the voice of Peter is not recognized in deceitfully mis-rendered texts.
Validity of Novus Ordo Priests
Their Orders meet the test of matter and form, for by the Code of Pius X even a heretic and schismatic can validly ordain and consecrate. Thus the argument of understanding the priesthood as entirely sacrificial cannot stand.
Relationships with Other Traditional Groups, Societies and Fraternities
We are not " walled-off" from those professing the Roman Catholic Faith. In this sense we are ecumenical. We do not judge the state of another's juridical status, for we are not the competent authority to do so.
Second Vatican Council
Although vague at times, the Fathers of this Council were true representatives of the worldwide church. However, they did not intend to be dogmatic, but pastoral, such that further clarifications could be made, as well as texts added or deleted to correct certain heresies spread via the Conciliar documents.
