We are a spiritual order, rather than a dogmatic one, for there is much information already available concerning the Crisis in the Church. Our special charism is one of 'getting through' by spiritual means.

The Body of Christ is hurting. Every day, on our way to work, and even more intensely on Sundays do we see or remember that our buildings are no longer in Catholic hands. Painfully we recall that the eternal Sacrifice of the Mass is replaced by something that the Holy Ghost whispers almost incessantly, "is not the real thing." Even the Bishops who once guarded the Faith with such zeal have fallen, and some even condemn us as " schismatics," separated from the love of Jesus Christ. Our suffering is almost unbearable. Many have gone mad.

In such an environment of disarray, the suffering and isolated faithful struggle day by day to hold onto our precious beliefs. Many of us, in the dark of night, cry to the Lord, " Why us, Lord? What did I do to deserve the curse of knowing the Faith and being so hated for it? So alone? Why can't the New Order Catholics just pick up a real Catholic book - any book - and restore the Church?"

We put so much hope in the Holy Father Pope Benedict XVI, yet where is the restoration?

We all ache in our bowels with the knowledge that it could and should be restored in a twinkling of an eye. All it would take is the Holy Father standing on the balcony and shouting, " The experiment has failed! Put on your cassocks! Restore the Latin Mass of All Time! Preach the Gospel to all without fear! Baptize in the name of the Father and Son and Holy Ghost, for only by His name will any soul have the hope of salvation! Let the servants of wickedness know, today, here, in Holy Rome, the Devil has lost!"

But he doesn't . . . The Holy Fathers pursue a course of destruction, with we as tormented witnesses, forced to know and suffer every change.

The Society of St. John of the Cross - or the SSJC - is here to help you. We provide spiritual counsel, both general and specific. Whether you are sedevacantist, or believe the Pope is the real Pope doesn't matter to us. What matters is the care for your soul.

Brothers and Sisters in Christ, this Crisis in the Church is spiritual in dimension. We suffer now because God wishes to take away the trappings, to starve our appetites, to moprtify our senses, and to take us through the dark night so that in that state of 'tabula rasa' we may put our whole selves on Him. To love him more ardently. Purely. Alone.

Only when we are once again a pure sacrifice will the Church Triumphant re-emerge from the catacombs to which we've been banished.

Whether you are a layperson, or clergy, we'll provide you the wisdom of the Church mystics and try to equip you to overcome the threefold enemies that may in fact be the obstacles that separate Traditional Catholics from a Glorious Restoration: the world, the flesh and the devil. St. Johnof the Cross adds one more enemy - our concupiscent selves.
